Class Description

Barricades and Backgrounds (A Defensive Carbine & Handgun Skill Development Training)

Are you only training on a "square" range with no barriers or obstacles between you and the target? Are you concentrating on one very specific target directly in front of you? If that is the case, it is time to break the norm.

A typical “square” range is good for working though mechanics and foundational fundamentals but it doesn't truly reflect the reality of the dynamic environments we spend our lives moving through.

"Barricades & Backgrounds" is a multidimensional cover and concealment based Defensive Carbine and Handgun Skill Development Training with foreground, middle-ground and background threat / non-threat awareness & assessment. The experience will include simulated architectural and environmental obstacles such as walls, doorways, curbs, vehicles, trees, mailboxes, tables, boulders, etc.

This training will also include shooting-on-the-move, turns and alternative shooting positions. To maintain accountability, targets will be varied and continually scored. Communication will also be practiced throughout the training.

Skills will be taught, then practiced in conjunction with foundational skills and then trained under stress in defensive scenarios. Numerous learning repetitions will be offered to assure the students understanding of the skills presented before increasing the level and complexity of the challenge.

This in-depth, well blended training is invaluable for the Armed Professional or Citizen Defender, but is equally as valuable for those interested in competition or range use of their carbine and handgun. It is specifically designed to give you skills to get through a bad day.

Included is individualized coaching and feedback. All students will constantly be encouraged to perform to their potential.  Class size is limited. Do not miss this training opportunity!

Note: The training is designed to improve the skilled base intermediate level student thru advanced level student. This is NOT a first time learning to shoot or handle a carbine or handgun training.

Note of Special Allowance: This training can be attended with only a carbine if one’s handgun skills are not suitable.
